The vast majority of vended laundries are independent
businesses, functioning without the guidance, or interference, of a
national corporation. While there are some benefits to being part
of a franchise, such as name recognition, you will realize
significantly more benefits by owning your own business.
For example, if you have sole ownership of the business, there
is not a larger corporation limiting what you can do, such as,
controlling what vending items you have. It also allows you to
target your marketing, control your message and define your brand
image. Plus, you can take advantage of the opportunity to expand
into other services, such as coffee shops, retail sales or any
other venture that is a complement to laundry.
Though being an entrepreneur is not without its risks, choosing
to own a business based on necessity, such as an independent
laundromat, offers a great opportunity with a minimum risk.
