A Coin Laundry is Not a Franchise

Unlike other business opportunities to invest in, a coin laundry is
not a franchise. A franchise is defined as “a contractual association between a manufacturer, wholesaler, or service organization (franchiser) and independent business people (franchisee) who buy the right to own and operate one or more units in the franchise system.” One of the most common examples of a franchise is a McDonald’s® fast food restaurant.

While there are some benefits to being part of a franchise, such as name recognition, there are more benefits to owning your own business. For example, if you have sole ownership of the business, there is not a larger corporation limiting what you can do, such as, controlling what vending items you have. It also allows you to target your marketing, control your message and define your brand image.

Typically a coin laundry is not sold as a franchise which saves you money in the short and long term, allowing you to control your destiny.

Being an entrepreneur is not without its risks, but there is a certain thrill to
launching your own business. However, because of the basic need people have to wash their clothes, owning an independent laundromat offers a great opportunity with a minimum risk.
