How Do International Vended Laundries Differ From Those in the U.S.?

While there are many similarities between vended laundries in
the United States and vended laundries in other countries, there are some striking differences. For example, the size of an International vended laundry is traditionally smaller and has fewer machines. In the United States, a laundromat
typically has more square footage with more equipment and larger washer-extractors. The average size of a vended U.S. laundromat is between 2,200 square feet and 2,800 square feet and International laundromats vary between 1,200 square feet and 1,500 square feet. Smaller laundries typically require a smaller initial investment on the part of the investor.

Other differences include utility costs. In some International markets, utility costs (water, electricity, etc.) are more costly than in the United States. Also, vended laundries in many international markets are attended. Because of this, they tend to offer more services such as wash and fold, valet, etc. Other great services include pick-up and drop-off services to smaller hotels and restaurants.

When it comes to location, it is the same no matter where you are. Convenient locations for a vended laundry include by universities, in areas where there are an abundance of high-rise apartments, and in tourist areas.
