In my last letter, I spoke about challenging one’s self in the year ahead. The focus was on setting a goal and creating manageable steps to reach it. A key component to any such endeavor is staying upbeat and positive.
With spring upon us, it occurs to me this season is optimistic by its very nature. For those of us up here in Wisconsin, we’ve endured another winter of bitter cold and snow and we know warm temperatures and longer days are ahead. That’s cause for loads of optimism.
But more than that, nature itself is abuzz with positivity. Consider those sprouting daffodils and tulips — their greens pushing up out of the soil despite the late winter cold and occasional snow. That’s optimism ...saying, “Despite what all the signs are telling me, I know spring is here and I’m coming up.” The budding trees are saying the same thing.
So for us, spring should be about the same philosophy — despite the hurdles and inconveniences in our way, we are going to win in the end. Like the tulip and daffodil, we know the snows and cold may come but we continue to push forward.
Sincerely,
