Since 1908, Speed Queen has focused on ways to make the laundry task easier. That trend continues this year with a new bigger door being added in the redesign of the brand’s popular, energy-efficient Horizon frontload washer.
The company has upgraded the model this year with a 132-percent larger door opening than the previous version. Speed Queen’s Horizon now boasts a 15 1/2-inch door opening to make loading and unloading significantly more convenient.
Speed Queen’s big door, however, isn't the only large news related to the Horizon. Already, an Energy Star® qualified washer, the unit has become more efficient. In 2007, the average water consumption for the Horizon will move from 17.6 gallons to 14.8 gallons.
The energy-saving story continues with its 300 G-force high-speed water extraction. This ultra high-speed extraction removes more water from loads and, as a result, cuts drying time significantly. Less drying time translates into more efficient use of gas (or electricity, depending on dryer style).
Commercial quality components synonymous with Speed Queen products include a 2.84-cubic-foot stainless steel washtub, stainless steel outer draintub and galvanized steel cabinet with three-coat finish for long-lasting durability. A 3/4 horsepower commercial motor delivers the power to produce high spin speeds.
Additional user-friendly features include a three-compartment solution dispenser, eight wash cycles an extra rinse option and cycle indicator lights. The Horizon also is offered in an ADA-compliant front control model as well as a space-saving stack washer-dryer combination. The Horizon is available for both vended and on-premises applications.
As with all Speed Queen products, the Horizon’s commercial quality comes backed by an industry-leading three-year parts and labor warranty. Consumers also receive peace of mind via a five-year limited warranty on the motor, cabinet and bearings and seal assembly. The stainless steel washtub is backed for the lifetime of the washer.
